Lancor culminates a year of work in the Carbon Footprint Reduction Group of the Basque Energy Cluster

19 Feb 2026

At Lancor Motores Eléctricos we continue to advance in our commitment to sustainability and responsible resource management. Last Friday we participated in the final workshop of the Working Group for the Reduction of the Organizational Carbon Footprint, an initiative promoted by the Basque Energy Cluster that has brought together eleven leading companies of the Basque industrial fabric for a year.

This project, framed within the Cluster’s Sustainability value proposition, aims to implement and consolidate systems for measuring, managing and reducing the carbon footprint in industrial organizations. Companies such as Arteche, CEGASA, Ekienergy, GEINSA, Ingeteam, Merytronic, Mugape, Ormazabal, Vicinay Mooring Connectors, ZIV and, of course, Lancor have participated in it.

A year of learning, analysis and commitment

Throughout this year, Lancor has been represented by our colleague Susana Ortega, who has actively participated in all sessions, contributing the company’s vision and working to integrate these practices into our management model. Her work has been key to advance in the definition of strategic lines that allow us to continue reducing our environmental impact.

During this final workshop, led by Global Factor’s Net-Zero team – Jennifer Ruiz Badiola, Laura Rivadeneira Betancourt and Markel Ochoa – lessons learned, opportunities for improvement and priority lines of action to continue measuring and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions were presented.

In addition, the meeting allowed the sharing of practical experiences among the participating companies, strengthening a common base that facilitates the permanent integration of carbon footprint management into business management models.

One more step in Lancor’s commitment to sustainability

This collective work represents a significant step forward on our path towards a more efficient, responsible organization aligned with current climate challenges. At Lancor, we understand that sustainability is not a one-time action, but a continuous commitment that must be integrated into our decisions, processes and internal culture.

The creation and implementation of this Working Group is supported by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, through the project “Collaboration for the reduction of the carbon footprint in the energy value chain and the promotion of sustainable production models”, approved in the call for Intermediate Agents 2024.

Building sustainable industry through cooperation

For Lancor, this initiative represents a clear example of how cooperation between companies strengthens the competitiveness of the Basque ecosystem and accelerates the transition towards more sustainable production models.

We thank Susana Ortega for her dedication and all the participating entities for their commitment. These types of projects reinforce our vision: a more sustainable industrial future is built from the present and among all people.
