Recycling rare earth elements from NdFeB permanent magnets at the end of their useful life in a more efficient way.
By addressing NdFeB permanent magnets (one of the most complex end-of-life products), HARMONY contributes to the EU Circular Economy Action Plan (2020) by responding to the will to:
to make the EU independent and improve its leading position in a strategic sector;
overcome the EU’s dependence on China for the supply of rare earth elements (REE);
open up the possibility of securing important and crucial value chains in Europe; and
providing a promising opportunity for the REE recycling ecosystem by building a circular process for REE recovery.
