The company participated in an event that brought together universities, research institutions, and businesses to foster collaboration and provide new opportunities for future generations of professionals.
Lancor recently participated in another edition of the conference organized by the Eibar Chapter of the Gipuzkoa School of Engineering at the UPV/EHU, an event that once again transformed the campus into a space for connecting the academic world, research, and business.
The event, which opened with a lecture by Enrique Zuazua Iriondo entitled “Understanding to Transform: Energy, Mathematics, and Artificial Intelligence” , served as a forum for reflecting on some of the major technological and industrial challenges that will shape the future. Following the opening presentation, companies and research groups shared their experiences and projects, followed by a networking session designed to foster new connections and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Representing Lancor were José Luis Femia and Eider Iturrate; the latter is a graduate of the Gipuzkoa School of Engineering itself, an example of the value that collaboration between universities and businesses brings to the development of local talent.
During the event, the Lancor team presented both its management model and some of the projects and technologies that are currently part of the company’s operations. Among these, developments related to renewable energy generation took center stage, particularly the mini-wind generators—a technology that reflects the company’s commitment to industrial innovation and the energy transition.
Close to the talent that will shape the industry of the future
For Lancor, these types of initiatives represent much more than just an opportunity to showcase its technological capabilities. They are opportunities to listen, learn, and share experiences with students, researchers, and future professionals who will play a leading role in the industry in the coming years.
As José Luis Femia, Lancor’s representative at the conference, pointed out:
“The ability to attract and develop talent will be one of the key factors for the industry’s future. That is why we believe it is essential to engage with universities, share knowledge, and show students the career opportunities available at innovative industrial companies like Lancor.”
The company considers it essential to maintain close ties with local universities and educational institutions, helping to bridge the gap between academic training and the business world. This collaboration is particularly important at a time when digitalization, technological innovation, and sustainability are transforming the industry and creating new career opportunities.
A long-standing commitment to education and community development
Lancor’s participation in these types of events is not an isolated effort. It is part of an ongoing commitment to talent development, collaboration with educational institutions, and creating opportunities for new generations of professionals.
Proof of this was the company’s receipt of the 23rd Marcelo Gangoiti Award in 2019, an acknowledgment of its track record of innovation, diversification, and contribution to the economic development of the Left Bank and the Mining Region of Bizkaia. The award, sponsored by organizations such as the Somorrostro Training Center, SPRI, CEBEK, and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, highlighted Lancor’s role as a company committed to its community and to the development of its people.
This vision remains fully relevant today. As an industrial company with deep roots in the Basque Country, Lancor believes that sustainable growth necessarily involves promoting knowledge, fostering collaboration between business and academia, and creating spaces where talent can flourish and find new opportunities.
Because the future of the industry isn’t built on technology alone. It’s also built by supporting the people who will make it happen.
At Lancor, we will continue to stay close to universities, close to ideas, and, above all, close to the talent that will drive our industry’s next advances.
