Lancor Motores Eléctricos, a leading company in the engineering and production of electric motors with more than 80 years of experience, is proud to announce its participation in the Harmony Project EU. This project, supported by the European Union, has the fundamental objective of strengthening the independence and competitiveness of the European industry, while promoting sustainability and circular economy.

The Harmony Project: Innovation and Magnet Recycling

The Harmony project focuses on the creation of a resilient raw material value chain. Its objective is to develop and validate at pilot scale an innovative, environmentally friendly and safe process for closed-loop recycling of rare earth elements from magnets. These magnets, made from the NdFeB alloy, are essential for a variety of applications, from clean technology to electronic devices.

Lancor and its Commitment to Sustainability

Lancor actively contributes to the Harmony project by testing materials in the manufacture of efficient and reliable electric motors.

These engines play a crucial role in the transition to a more sustainable future, as they are applied in contexts such as electric mobility and charging infrastructure. Lancor’s collaboration with other major companies and institutions, including Ceit Centro Tecnológico, is a significant step towards achieving the project’s objectives.

Three Years of European Collaboration

Lancor’s participation in Harmony is the start of a three-year European collaboration. During this period, significant advances are expected to be made in the recycling of NdFeB magnets and in promoting more sustainable practices in the industry.

“We are eager to contribute to the development of cleaner and more efficient solutions,” says Rubén Rubio who is Coordinator of Lancor’s R&D team. “The Harmony project represents a unique opportunity to drive electric mobility and the circular economy in Europe and beyond.”
